The colour scale for shaded and filled contours is determined by the maximum and minimum values of the whole field. Use of [Field] scaling will ensure that contours on different planes show consistent colours.

The command VARIABLES provides a list of the available field variables and their names, of which there are 50 by default (although this number can be indefinitely enlarged by making modifications to the main programs of the SATELLITE and EARTH).
