JOB TITLE: CFD Engineer – Entry level and up to 3 years’ experience

Position Description
Concentration Heat and Momentum Ltd (CHAM) is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer, to contribute to all technical areas of the business, as follows:
- 1) Execute CFD consultancy contracts with client interaction, including the interpretation of client requirements, the formulation of contract proposals, model formulation & implementation, and the writing of technical reports.
- 2) Assist with technical-support services by investigating, finding and reporting on solutions to problems raised by our clients.
- 3) Contribute to CFD software-development activities.
- 4) Contribute to product marketing by technical writing of articles and presentations.
- 5) Participate in sales and marketing by creating sales demonstrations.
The successful candidate will be interested in a wide variety of activities under the general umbrella of CFD. This requires resourcefulness, versatility, an enquiring mind, and an interest in learning about many aspects of engineering, science and software.
Requirements
- * BSc (1st class), MSc or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar discipline with strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
- * Knowledge and experience of CFD and other numerical methods, scientific computing, and experience with commercial and/or open-source CFD codes.
- * Ability to apply CFD and analytical modelling techniques to solve engineering problems, involving: the construction of CFD models from CAD or engineering drawings; the design and implementation of an appropriate calculation mesh and boundary conditions; the application of suitable modelling techniques to particular problems; the interpretation of results, and post- processing analysis.
- * Excellent oral and written communication skills in English to enable successful liaison and presentation of technical work.
- * Practical experience with: C, C++, FORTRAN (preferred) and Python; CAD software (knowledge of formats, engineering drawings and using packages such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Rhino, ZWCAD, etc.); and MS office.
- * Able to work individually and as part of a team.
- * The right to live and work in the UK.
