Professor Spalding delivered a paper on "Population Models of Turbulent Heat and Mass Transfer" at the 6th International Conference on Turbulence Heat and Mass Transfer held at Sapienza, University of Rome, from September 14 - 17 2009 A Benelux PHOENICS User Meeting was held on 15th September 2009 at the Aristo Centre, Eindhoven and featured technical contributions by PHOENICS Users throughout the region and an overview of PHOENICS (2009). May 2008
The International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer, the CFD Research Laboratory of the University of New South Wales Australia, and the LEEVAM Research Laboratory of the University of Cergy-Pontoise, France, are co-sponsoring CHT-08, the fourth International Symposium on Advances in Computational Heat Transfer which will be held in Marrakech, Morocco between 11-16 May 2008. The Conference is planned as a tribute to Professor Brian Spalding in honour of his 85th birthday. Some 200 abstracts have been received by the organizers to date. Anyone interested in contributing, or attending, can obtain further information via http://cht08.mech.unsw.edu.au February 2008

CHAM is pleased to announce that a Benelux PHOENICS User Meeting was held on 5th September 2007 featuring technical contributions by PHOENICS Users throughout the region and an overview of PHOENICS (2007). Proceedings will be posted here shortly. May 2007
Professor Spalding delivered a Keynote Lecture, entitled "CFD: Past, Present and Future" at the 16th Leontiev Summer School held in St Petersburg May 21-25 2007. To view the text of the lecture click here (Powerpoint presentation / 26.8mb). December 2006
The 2006 User Meeting, held in London, was a success with positive feedback from delegates all of whom received a CD containing the presentations made during the meeting. Photo Gallery: For details click here. November 2005
CHAM models BTB Exhausts As part of a recent development project by BTB to design a new exhaust
manifold for a BMW M20 engine CHAM were asked to carry out both steady state
and transient flow simulations. The image shows the results of the transient
analysis and highlights the pulsing through the equal length primaries of
the manifold. The manifold, together with a GroupN system has been fitted to
a customer's track-day car and ensures that noise levels will be met without
compromising on engine performance. July 2005
Professor Brian Spalding delivered a keynote address entitled A Simplified CFD Method for the Design of Heat Exchangers at the ASME 2005 Summer Conference on Advanced Computational Methods and Applications for Heat Exchanger Design. Links to older PHOENICS Newsletters
