ShapeMaker Added Shapes

The ShapeMaker permits to unite a few objects in one shape. Previous to this the shapes of all elementary components are created and are saved as facets .dat files. Then each of a component unites consistently in one figure.

For a example we shall create a model of the residential house of which consists of a main building (large cube), a roof (pyramid) and a garage (small cube).

The process of construction includes four stages.

1. Creation and saving of a roof shape.

Choose "Cube" shape from the list and set the "Top size" as 0. Then it is necessary to press "Save as .dat file" button and save facets into ROOF.DAT file. ShapeMaker - Viewer image a pyramid. Close the "Cube parameters" dialogue box by pressing of "Exit" button.

2. Creation and saving of a garage shape.

Choose "Cube" shape from the list and set the "Top size" as 1. Then it is necessary to press "Save as .dat file" button and save facets into GARAGE.DAT file. ShapeMaker - Viewer image a cube. Close the "Cube parameters" dialogue box by pressing of "Exit" button.

3. Creation of a main building shape.

Choose "Cube" shape from the list and set the "Top size" as 1. Close the "Cube parameters" dialogue box by pressing of "Exit" button. ShapeMaker - Viewer image a cube.

4. Consecutive coupling of saved shapes in one.

Make active the "Added object parameters" dialogue box from "Edit/Add" menu item.

The parameters from "Displacement about main figure, meters" group box serve for the setting of coordinates of a local axis of added object. Set "in X direction", "in Y direction" and "in Z direction" values as 0, 0 and 1.

The parameters from "Rotation angles, degree" group box serve for the setting the rotation angles of a local axis of added object about main axes. Set "about X axis", "about Y axis" and "about Z axis" values as 0, 0 and 0.

The parameters from "Size factors of added object" group box serve for change of scale of added object. "X size", "Y size" and "Z size" edit controls define factors of which are multiplied on the appropriate size of a added figure. Set them as 1, 1 and 1.

Further press "Add" button and load ROOF.DAT file. Press "Cancel" button to close the "Added object parameters" dialogue box. ShapeMaker - Viewer image a building with a roff.

Make active the "Added object parameters" dialogue box from "Edit/Add" menu item once again.

Set "in X direction", "in Y direction" and "in Z direction" parameters from "Displacement about main figure, meters" group box as 1, 0 and 0.

Set "X size", "Y size" and "Z size" parameters from "Size factors of added object" group box as 0.5, 0.5 and 0.5.

Further press "Add" button and load GARAGE.DAT file. ShapeMaker - Viewer image a shape of house with a roff and a garage.

Press "Save as .dat file" button and save facets into HOUSE.DAT file.

Press "Cancel" button to close the "Added object parameters" dialogue box.

Next run PHOENICS VR Editor and add object by loading the saving facets HOUSE.DAT file. Specify XSize, YSize and ZSize values in "Object Dialogue Box" as 0.5. Then PHOENICS VR Editor images in real scale.
